Daikin's mini-splits are essentially neck-and-neck with Mitsubishi at the premium tier. The FTXS and FTX series are excellent. Where Daikin really shines is multi-zone setups in larger homes — they handle uneven loads better than Mitsubishi in my experience. Their central AC line (sold under Goodman and Amana badges) is solid mid-tier; the Daikin-badged Fit ducted unit is premium and worth specifying. In Redondo Beach specifically, salt air south of PCH, milder summer than Torrance, and consistent ocean breeze almost year-round.
